Hi! My name is Lisle Grant. I am a lettering artist, illustrator, boy mom and fire wife from Dallas, Texas. I believe in being sweet and standing tall with confidence, trusting God, and encouraging others to do the same.
I began lettering sometime between 2015 and 2016 as a way to cope with having a miscarriage and an aniexty-filled pregnancy with my rainbow baby that eventually led to postpartum depression. I turned to lettering as an escape and I fully believe that having a creative outlet was instrumental in my healing. Something about sitting down and mindlessly drawing letters, trying to perfect them, took my mind off of some pretty rough feelings and I came out on the other side of it with so much love for the hobby that I turned it into a business.
I started A Peace of Pineapple in 2018 as a way to
- Spread joy, happiness, and Godly encouragement through fun and unique illustrations and lettering
- Help other moms find a creative outlet in lettering and illustration to not only combat the stress of motherhood, but start creative businesses to allow moms to have more time with their families.
- Encourage moms to create with their children and turn arts and crafts into a daily practice
- Provide a Maker Mom community where moms can turn to discuss their craft, receive feedback, business advice and share their struggles and successes
Fast forward to now and my lettering has been on T-shirts, murals, doors, logos, greeting cards, invitations, flyers, cups, chalkboards, written in sand, painted on pumpkins, and so much more.
God gave me the word “teacher” as part of my purpose and also reassured me that my talents and interests are not random. They are part of the reason I’m on this earth. I started this blog as a way to fulfill that purpose through lettering and illustration tutorials, DIY home decor, crafting with your kids, and starting a maker mom business.
